科学家本以为在水深200米的南极冰层下，应该只会存在一些微生物。但NASA科学家在南极考察时却意外的观察到了两种复杂生物，其中一种是过去从没见过的新物种，外型很像虾子。 这只颜色看似金黄色、外型像虾子的奇特生物，不断在科学家的摄影机镜头前游来游去，然后停在电线上时间长达2分钟，这个新发现，让科学家大为振奋，没想到小小的微生物，居然能承受的了南极冰河底下的超低温。在海底探勘要结束时，NASA科学家又观察到有触角的水母生物，附着在电线上。
